August 10th, 2009 Camping Considerations
Have you ever gone camping? How was it? What place did you visit? What was the most interesting thing that you did there?
Camping is fun and enjoyable. It is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors. It is a great way to increase our awareness about the nature and the surroundings. It gives us a chance to relax and it frees us from stress and pressures that we get from school or work. Most importantly, it provides us an opportunity to bond and renew our closeness with our family, friends, or loved ones.
Camping is easy. A little knowledge and common sense will help you get started. Here are some important things to consider in camping.
1. Itinerary and Security. The itinerary should be safe. Make sure that the activities can be done there safely. Choose a place where the members will have fun and engage in with the activities according to their interests. The place must also provide comfort to the members. Parks, forests, or beaches can be great camping destinations.
2. Recreational Activities. Make sure that the activities to be done at the camp suits the interests of each member. The activities should allow them to get involved. Also, we have to make sure that the materials needed for the activities are safe to use.
3. Camping gears. Of course we have to make sure that the materials that we will bring are suitable for the camp. Backpacking is exciting. We must not forget to bring the important things such as the camping tent that serves as our shelter. It protects us from rain, shields us from the ray of the sun, and protects us from harmful insects. We must also bring a sleeping bag or pad to give us comfort when sleeping, and a lantern or a flashlight to provide us light at night. Make sure you have enough food and water to help you overcome hunger and thirst, and a first aid kit if any accidents happen at the camp.
4. Weather. If the weather is bad then we must consider rescheduling the camping trip. Remember that a camping trip should be fun and enjoyable and not tragic and disastrous.
