The most important things in life lived within the walls of our own home. For us parents, one of the greatest joys in life is to spend time with our children.

Camping with our children is a true joy. It strengthens our relationship with them. They wouldn’t remember us for the work we did outside the home. They would only recall the moments we spent with them together.

Therefore, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two children and we usually go camping together. We enjoy backpacking and preparing our foods, drinks, our camping gears, and camping tents. My son especially likes star gazing. He usually puts on a sleeping bag on the floor and spends the night with his pair of binoculars looking at the moon and the stars.  My daughter enjoys cooking camping recipes with her mom.

Our family usually goes to local parks, forests, and beaches to enjoy the beauty of the nature. We sometimes do camping in our backyard if we do not have much money. On our camp, we often talk about life, and I tell stories or share personal experiences. When I do this, I can focus on my children without the distractions of video games or the Internet.

We sometimes go bird watching and fishing. I used to ask them “what kind of bird is that?” or “what kind of fish is that?”  We sometimes sing together, or play hide and seek together.

Now, this doesn’t mean that our family doesn’t have problems. All families face challenges in their lives, and ours is no exception. However, we try to talk openly about our problems, and we try to solve them together. It really takes time to build a strong family but it’s worth the effort.
